This is just an informal question here, but does any Citibank cardholder have problems with their online security features?
I have always had concerns that one can re-register their card for online access under a new username and password while keeping the old username still live. This in my opinion creates the opportunity for a potential fraudster to create a parallel account tied to a card. Then they can just for instance create virtual account numbers for online purchases, possibly change addresses, etc.
I was able to register my Citi card under a different username and create a vritual account number that my primary username couldn't see as active. That's scary in my book. Of course in Citi’s defense, the card number, CV2 code and secret password are needed to register. However, I think Citi needs to tighten security in this area.
Thoughts?
