I don't sign. I always hand them my card and ID.
Personally I don't sign any of my cards, that way if someone somehow gets a hold of one, they won't have any idea how my signature looks like.
True, but in my 7 years of having credit cards I have not once been turned down because my card wasn't signed.

I was turned down at a large summer fair (county fair or state fair?) with two small children 2 hours from home and no other plastic and very little cash on me. We did NOT get into the fair that day and I was left with two crying 8 year olds.
sailor_mercury - haha now that sounds like a story. Must have been a headache for sure that day

I would have just taken the kids to breakfast and signed them off-site but I had "SEE ID" written in big bold sharpie over the entire sig panel. It was frustrating that they would not refund the $15 parking I had paid either! Funny thing is the kids don't even remember it now. They remember stopping for pancakes on the way home. I only had one or two cards on me and they were both credit cards, I've learned to never be without an ATM card. My son is 15 now and I can't keep cash on me, he always needs it for something.
