I called Amex today to close my Green card since I'm coming up on my 1 year anniversary and just got the Hilton Surpass and BCP cards. The rep offered me a $95 loyalty credit to keep it open.

I guess I'll just SD my green card until for another year!

That is awesome. I'm not sure if I want to keep my Green or upgrade it to PRG (only if they offer signup bonus). To me, the Green is a classic card and I like it....so far, and probably wouldn't cancel it. Smiley Very Happy

Re: AmEx Green annual fee waived

I would run between 2k and 2.5k through it every month. It was my bills and everyday card. I've now switched everything over to the BCP.

Re: AmEx Green annual fee waived

I like the classic look of the Green...but don't like the classic fee! :-)

Speaking of looks, I had no idea the BCP card was clear....I've always assumed it was white like the picture. It doesn't seem very durable...seems like the numbers can easily fade. I was somewhat disappointed.

Good to know! I was actually thinking about calling when my year came up to see if they'd waive it.

Re: AmEx Green annual fee waived

They do fade. I've had about 3 in 1 year that have ended up scratched, numbers wearing, etc.

The blue cards aren't my favorite look.

I prefer the green, although I have the PRG.
