This might be a stupid question but I'm going to ask it. As I stated the other day I was just approved for the Costco AmEx with a $2000 CL. My AmEx Delta is at $1000 and the 61st day is this Sunday. Do you feel that the spending limit option gives you any indication on what you might be approved for on a CLI? I ask because it looks like my max spending on my $1000 Delta card is $2000. Ironically, that is the CL they just gave me on my new Costco card. Maybe I'm way off but I was just going to put this out there for your opinions.
Thanks!
Based on the 3x CLI model, you should request $3k and let AMEX counter if necessary. Perhaps I'm misunderstandng your question.

Great question!
I do think that the "check spend ability" does give an indication of possible internal risk limits for new revolvers. In my case, I had my BCP for exactly a month. I did the "check spend ability" and it went up to $9000. Later on that night I apped for the AMEX Delta and my new CL was $2K - close to the difference in my max spending ability ($9k) and BCP CL ($7.4k). I still think you'll get your 3x cli on AMEX Delta on Sunday, however.
