So I applied for the Amazon credit card earlier today. I was given the message that I couldn't be approved right away but they'd get back to me within 30 days. I called the recon number, the guy was very helpful but was unable to verify my date of birth. I was told to either go into a Chase bank or to fax verification over. I did so, but now I'm left wondering when I'll hear back and why on earth they were unable to verify my date of birth in the first place. Any experience with this? A forum and Google search bring up similar situations but from existing customers being asked to provide verification, not from new applicants.
