Amazon Visa to Chase Freedom

[ Edited ]

I got approved for amazon visa a few days ago for only $500 on exec. recon... I'm glad I finally got a chase card but I really wanted the freedom... I called recon line today and told her that I put in an app for the freedom because I really wanted that card instead of the amazon... I asked her to pull my TU since it's the best report I have... she put me on hold for 5-7 mins and said that she will close the amazon and give me the freedom... I was glad .. but was it a right choice??? took 2 hards for $500?  will i still get my $100 per $500 sign up bonus???... :smileyembarrassed:

and also, is chase good with CLI???

Re: Amazon Visa to Chase Freedom

You probably should have applied for the Freedom in the beginning to avoid the two HPs. I'm not sure how good Chase is with CLIs. Maybe someone else has more info or experience with Chase card services.

But CONGRATS on the approval.

The truth is out there...

Re: Amazon Visa to Chase Freedom

I have no experience besides what's been told here.

Chase rarely does auto cli.

and its always a hard pull for a customer initiated cli.

I myself have only a 500 limit.

Only 3 of my cards are 500 all the others are 2k +.

But I wont be using a hard pull until at least next summer for chase.

i'm surprised they only gave you $500... your scores are a lot higher than mine... hopefully, chase will give us some love and auto increase our limits....

Re: Amazon Visa to Chase Freedom

The itch will always be there...lol. I'm currently itching to apply for the US Bank Cash + card but holding out til my scores hit the mid 700s. I can't waiiiitttt.

It's weird that Chase HP'd you twice. When I applied for Chase Freedom and Chase Amazon, I was only pulled once and the apps were days apart.

my scores have actually fluctuated alot since i really started "looking at my credit".

when i first discoverd myfico tu and eq were around 650-660's (late june this year)

lowered my util and apped for a couple cards that turned into a couple more and a car loan lol. :smileylol: so that mix helped me out.

i think the reason was even though i had a 2.5k card and 2k card reporting its they were both store cards.

which why they didnt want to give me a giant limit. which im ok with.

always room to grow right?

Re: Amazon Visa to Chase Freedom

Congrats on the Freedom Card from Chase. Do not forget to sign up for the changing/rolling 5% cash back  categories each quarter. (you can do it online). I have had a Chase Freedom Card 18 months or so.  They do not usually do an auto cli. I did call them once and inquired. It would be a Hard Pull. So I left it alone. (Current limit 5 digits). Additionally, from what I have read here and my interaction with the CSR Reps, they like to see Payment and use History before upping your limits.
