I didn't realize you can upgrade from Amazon to Prime? The prime card is synchrony and the normal is Chase?
Actuallay, the store card (Prime or not, depends on if you have Prime membership) is Synch and the Visa is Chase.
I have the Chase Visa card, but I'm now seriously considering going for the store card (that has to be the first time anyone has said that here )

Go for it! It's a very useful card if you shop enough on Amazon - the customer service is quite ineffective at times, but the savings do add up. I calculated that given my spend patterns, the 5% cash back would allow me to break even on my Amazon Prime membership fee every year (with possibly some left over).

Oh, trust me. I shop enough on Amazon that the UPS guy knows me personally.

Haha, same here! The UPS guy even rings my doorbell to leave other packages inside the building when my neighbors aren't at home. Good luck with the app if you decide to apply!

I don't have the card, but IIRC there are a couple of categories that don't get 5% back (I think maybe Kindle books?).
That being said, you can easily get around that by buying an Amazon gift card for your own account using the Amazon store card (which does get the 5%) then using your gift card balance to buy the Kindle book (or whatever it was that the 5% usually doesn't apply to).
Again, I don't have the card so this may have changed. When in doubt make a small 'test buy' to see before making larger purchases.
Not accurate my friend. It is sallie Mae that does not count digital downloads. The others count, including the store card (if prime).

Thanks.
I have my eye on the Marvel card. Perhaps I will go for both the Amazon store card and the Marvel card at the same time. Just waiting to get back from holidays so that they're not sitting in the mailbox whilst I'm gone.

Ah, even better!
Like I mentioned, I don't have it myself so I only know what I've read from others... it's good to know Kindle and other digital downloads count as well!
