No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
For both programs, you need Chase checking. Both give "10%", but the difference is:
Old: 10% of base points, so if you spend $100 in a 5x category, you get 510 (5*$100 + 10% of $100). And then, with the 10 points per purchase, you end up with 520
New: 10% of all points earned during the year. So with $100 in a 5x category, you would earn 550 points once you get the annual bonus.
So here the new method is better, but if you make frequent smaller purchases, especially in 1x categories, the old method wins.

Right, forgot that critical part, the new program is also ending. I like the link, OK, a few things are ending (10% bonus, extra point on travel purchases through the mall etc) , but hey, we are changing the name of the site and now you can add favorites!
As far the Hyatt card, I prefer not to app for any CCs right now. Only if it really compliments the UR points that I have with Chase. But for now I'm just wondering if the MR/UR point is valuable than the other when transferred to partenrs, say Hyatt or HHonnors

UR to hyatt is much more valuable to me than MR to hilton, but to each their own.
