Sorry for confusion... It pays 2% rewards at Department Stores... Wondering if Im correct in my thinking below:
I assume Macy's, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus etc.
Zappos and Amazon are not going to count right?
I am lost at what trhe question is
Amazon is considered online warehouse, so no.
Department store means store like JCP, Macy's, etc where it primarily sells cloths or houseware.
For me, its 3% rewards at Macy's, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, but only 1% at Zappos and Amazon. Maybe its another one of those YMMV situations but, this is how it shakes out for me with my BCP.
The preferred version actually pays 3% on those categories. Amazon is classified by Visa and Mastercard as a bookstore so I would guess American Express may be the same. I am not sure about Zappos but probably not.
so what about stores like American Eagle, Hollister, Abercrombie&Fitch, Hibbets, Finish Line and stores like that? are they covered by the BCP 3%
Once you buy something just check online on what the merchant is categorized as Walmart Supermarket is grocery at 3-6% and Walmart Supercenter at 1%.
You can also go to local grocery store like Smiths, VONS, or Walmert Supermarket and buy Amazon gift card and earn 3-6%.
$100 Amazon gift card gets your $3-$6 depending on your BCE/BCP card.
