Just got denied again. Said it was not available to this card type. I asked if it was due to low spend and that was his reply. Hmmm
Wow, that sucks. Very interesting to know the reps have the option to use their discretion. I wonder what qualifies / disqualifies a person.
On another note, Here's the list so far for cards that are eligible for the EMV chip:
Platinum
PR Gold
Gold (Regular)
SPG
BCE
Any missing?
I placed a call to Platinum Customer Service and was told that all cards are available except Delta and Costco TE...

Dang. I called now and they said its not available for my PRG. May be due to the low spend I out on the card...
What is considered as "low spending" on the PRG? Like 300~400bucks a month? I've always wonder about this.
My BCE is eligible. I've had this card for less than 2 months and put 2K in it so far
Just tried to get chipped with my Jetblue, they said it wasn't available and that they are doing the corporate cards first. Meh.
Just for $@!ts and Giggles, I chatted with Amex online to see how updated & knowledgeable their CSRs are. The CSR said only the Platinum Card has the EMV.
When i'm free i'll keep chatting and asking to see what they say each time. Maybe this will make them more proactive to knowing their own products!
