Yes it is really just keeping all the risk activity in one place and manageable if something does happen. Of course you know I am also going to give amex a plug here. I have had four or five small theft issues and amex has handled it with such clarity . No iffiness on their part; if it was on their card they take responsibility. I think like with everything else with them, the longer you are with them and have no problems , the harder they work for you because you are not a "problem" customer. I say that because I don't think amex likes people who are always having issues. A little like crying wolf.

Thanks, and to you and yours, too!

Interesting role for a green card. That does make sense!

Re: American Express Gold Preferred Rewards

Thanks for the response, notmyname. I really do appreciate it.

And I was unclear. As an incentive to upgrade my Green to Gold or Platinum, AMEX has offered me an additional 10,000 points provided I charge $500 within 6 months. So that's points for all my charges plus another 10,000 after six months.

But it sounds like the alternative offer is 10,000 upon accepting the upgrade? Anyone know if that's true?

Hm. Is there more perks for Charge Cards thru Amex compared to their Credit Cards? Oh Well. heh.
