American Express Oasis after dismissed BK

Does anyone know if the American Express Oasis program treats dismissed BKs the same as discharged? That is, would my dismissed BK prevent me from qualifying for the Oasis Optima card?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

I think it does because they are not allowed to take money from you once the debt has been discharged in a bk by court. I had an amex in my 01' bk and have thought about this myself. if someone knows different let me know

In a dismissed BK there would have been no discharged debt. I really think he might have a chance at the Oasis program, but don't you have to be invited to participate?

Hmmm...AMEX left me a message to call them yesterday.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, I was invited to apply. However, the application mentions BKs will cause your app to be denied. I just wondered if anyone had insight to their position on a dismissed BK versus a discharged BK.

Since my BK was dismissed, I am still on the hook to them...

Re: American Express Oasis after dismissed BK

A BK is a BK. BK reporting is based on filing, not discharge. Unless you have a court order stating it is to be removed from your CBR's it is going to stay there for the full period of time allowed by law.

Okay, yeah, if AMEX just doesn't do BK at all then no, OP would not be eligible for Oasis. I was replying to the remark that AMEX couldn't collect on debt, due to BK. With dismissed, they can collect.

Dismissed chap. 13 BKs actually remain on your EQ report longer than a discharged chap.13.  EQ. reports dismissed for 10 yrs., discharged is gone in 7.

TU and EX remove either chap. 13s in 7 yrs.  Just another reason to hate EQ.
