$150k + isn't enough I guess?
To each their own. I'm sure it may be enough for some, but for me no. I don't judge anyone for what they want.
Perhaps, but it might be enough for AMEX. IMHO, I think two BCEs and BCP are redundant, so I'll definitely look into reallocation of those CLs.
Thank you for the constructive feedback. I have to wait for the reallocation until all cards hit one year according to Amex.
Correct. The donor accounts need to be 13 months old, IIRC. And even if you have no further CLIs, the combined CL on those three would put you over $13K.

My point was I agree with the comment about looking at your signature.
My eyes opened really wide when I saw it.. and i"m not a creditor. 12 new accounts in the last 6 months? Oooooook. Good thing you weren't surprised with the denial.
I understand the point about the signature and agree as well which is why I wasn't suprised about the denial. I was commenting about 150+ not being enough. That number (150k) is small in comparison to some others here. Not that I'm competing with anyone. I want the credit for my own reasons which is why I'm here trying to learn more.

Thank you. That's why I would be happy with the combined limits on one card. I'll leave the Amex card alone at that point.

@09Lexie wrote:You have added a lot of new TLs and with that comes increased exposure to your current lenders. The inq's and the new TLs were probably too much for them and you might be looking at 6 mos from your last TL. How many new accts in the past 6 mos?
I've lost track, but if I had to guess I would say at least 12
I suspect the number of new TLs plus the CLI's on your existing TLs might be the culprit. If I were Amex, I might want to see how you handle the new TLs AND the higher CL's you received.

Thanks 09Lexie. Agreed.

That's cool... from a lender's point of view the first question I would ask would be "Why do you need 30 credit cards?" but if you've got your reasons that's all that matters.
Good luck!

Thank you. Honestly, I don't need that many. If I can get a few more of my current cards up to 10k+ I'll be good. I'm all app'd out on new apps.

12njoy: How long did it take for you to hear back on the CLI and what Bureau did they use to ck your credit. You must be a guy, and I'm a "nervous nelly" because my score is over 700 (Actually over 800 on two reports). I've only applied for and received one new credit card in the past year, and I still couldn't ask for 3x CLI when I requested the increase a few days ago. I asked for a little less than 2x CLI.
I learned about the 3X CLI a few days ago & I just recently realized that telling everyone no when they asked to increase my Credit Limit was hurting my FICO score. I want all my FICO bankcard scores to be in the 800s within the next year. I would say within 6 months, but I'm looking for & will buy a new home soon. My score will probably plummet due to huge new loan.

Cool. I have 808 with experian and I've had my AmEX card since 1984 without ever asking for a CLI.
