I didn't understand it myself. Yeah my first card with them..guest i pulled the trigger to early..just have to wait until December I guess..I have Discover-$5.5k, BofA rewards$5K, Citi--$3k all opened on the same day..Plus Cap one--$1k(2years old no miss paymt)
D-Wall...thankx a bunch..Mind sharing what was told to you in your denial letter.
Like everyone said just try again...
It was basically too many new accounts, loan balances too high, etc. The card was part of a small spree. I got a new car loan, refinanced another car loan, AMEX Delta, and Penfed Cash. They just didn't like all the new things reporting. I think my aaoa had dropped to under a year...
Not trying to hijack but does the "you will receive a written response in 7-10 days" automatically mean no? I'm assuming it does.

Did you apply and get approved on July 18? Or was July 18 the day Amex completed the internal processes to officially open your account? That takes a few days after application and is the day that counts when you're going for the 61 day CLI.
IF that's why you didn't get approved for your CLI, you can try again once the real 61 days has been reached. If it was some other reason ... wait 90 days as everybody says.
Well it was in this case haha. Hopefuly no hard pull, hopefully didn't trigger an account review. Guess I got a little overambitious.
I applied on the phone & approved on the same day.....(18th)
