I have never cold apped a card using another person's offer code but I have read that there has been much success both with Amex and Chase doing this.

hey real quick guys. i applied via deltas website (where you go and put your frequent flyer number and your last name to see if you have any preapprovals). i applied for the regular gold delta since thats what i was pre approved for (30k bonus plus 50 dollars statement). what i wanted to know was, is there a difference between applying straight on deltas web site vs amex website?

EDIT: i ask because the amex url is 302 and the delta url is 262 (might be vice versa but there is a difference).

To apply online and receive the offer without having to call, you can check CardMatch first. 

If you try https://www.deltaamexcard.com you'll either receive an offer for 35k or 50k sign up bonus.  All you'll have to do is submit your Delta SM # and last name.

I only got offered 35k, so I'll continue to garden.
