Amex 61 Day CLI Best Options

Got Amex BCE. SL limit of $1,900. What's the best formula for getting increase. PIF, minimum use, running a lot thru etc. I know every profile is different, but I've seen nothing definitive. If nothings changed on CR from when account was opened, are my chances good to get 3x CLI.

Do you mind offering more details regarding your credit profile....scores, other cards, utilization, negative marks. You could probably get better answers with more information...thanks!

Re: Amex 61 Day CLI Best Options

You're missing the most important factor: Your overall credit profile.

In my experience, Amex heavily relies on your overall credit profile and not just the account you're requesting an increase on. That account can be in great shape but if something is off on your report you'll most likely be denied. You need to take that into consideration and have your overall credit profile in stellar condition before requesting any increase. So prior to requesting the 3x CLI, my advice is as follows:

1- Make sure your overall utlization is low. High utlilization is often grounds for a denial. I've seen this happen time and time again with Amex.

2- Don't have excessive credit inquiries. The less the better, especially within the last 12 months.

3- Don't have any accounts that have been opened too recently.

4- Make sure you have no missed payments that are being reported.

Hope this helps and good luck!
