Amex App question for Forum Experts

I want to app Amex, and need to know if it's a good time.....or not. Two weeks ago, I finally paid a $411 balance well past SOL and not reporting. It was a load off my credit mind. I want to app simply to get 23 years of history, a strictly "business" decision. My report is clean for the first time in years. Stats: scores below: 1% utility, AAOA 5 years-oldest-14 years. 3 new cards last December. 2 inqs on Exp and EQ, one on TU (all Dec. 2013) Amex softed me a bunch at the end of 2013, early 2014. Possibly for a business card; I registered anLLC in Nov and received several invites for business cards. No invites for personal cards. Another soft pull from two weeks ago, about the time I paid the $411 balance. This SP however, was placed by "American Express 2", the others by "American Express." I checked pre-approvals on their site, up came Everyday, BCP and Platinum. So, what are you thoughts and experiences? Lay some knowledge on me.

Re: Amex App question for Forum Experts

By the way, what is the likelihood if being treated as a current member regarding HP v SP?

I belive it is only a HP if you get approved? Not 100% sure on that but I remember seeing that in another thread

Re: Amex App question for Forum Experts

I believe you must login to your AE account and apply for it to be a SP for current members.  If you don't currently have a card, it will be a HP.

However, since you have been pre-approved for some revolvers, I think you will be approved.  It would have been a HP in any case with the approval.

If you're not an AMEX member (do not have an AMEX card) it will be a hard pull either you're approved or not approved.
