Amex BCE Denied

Today I received my 3x CLI on my ED. So I was feeling lucky and applied for the BCE but was denied with the following reason:

Unsatisfied Tax lien with a balance equal to or greater than $5000

^^ Finally this plays a factor in a credit decision. I'll reapply in a few months when its  paid and withdrawn.

Edit -- Just observed that this was a HP on EX

Sounds like the ED card is doing well for you so id concentrate on that for now. You'll get the other one before you know it.

So you got a HP for a denial when you are a current AMEX customer? I was under the impression it was a SP if declined and a HP if approved.

Unfortunately, I guess YMMV. It's not like they didn't know about the liens when I applied for my Platinum and ED.
