Amex BCE question

I recently got the amex bce and am wondering if in order to hit my $100 cash back bonus, do I need to let my statement cut with a balance or can I pif before statement cuts. Or will whatever amount of money I use throughout be used as money I spent even if I didn't let a statement report with a balance??
Thank u for your time.

The bonus refers to the spend you put on the card, not the balance you let post.  PIF will have no effect on your sign-up bonus.

Re: Amex BCE question

Also, when I redeem my bonus offer, do I need to have a balance reporting. I guess it will deduct the $100 bonus from my current balance, correct??

Re: Amex BCE question

Yes you can use it as a statement credit. It won't count as your monthly payment however, it'll just reduce your balance.

Re: Amex BCE question

What if I don't have a balance at the time. Should I use $100 to pay for something, then redeem the $100 bonus so my balance will be 0?

You have to request it be credited.   Just make your normal purchases and request when you need it.

Re: Amex BCE question

Yeah you can just let it accumulate. Save it for when you need it, don't think there's any kind of time limit on when you can use it.

Re: Amex BCE question

There is also no problem in having it credit to your account creating a negative balance.   Then, either future charges will reduce the negative amount, or, if you are not using the card, you can request Amex to send you a check.   They just did this for me.

Re: Amex BCE question

Hey guys, I have one more question. When will my rewards dollars post. I've already hit my $1,000 spend?
