Have you ever seen one of those burgers left out for an entire year. It doesn't change. That means, if I eat enough of it, I will absorb the non-aging chemicals in it and stay young looking. Much cheaper than all those fancy creams women buy Smiley Wink

But. yes Amex makes a majority of their money off fee's. Amex has higher merchant fee's than most other CCC's which is why some places do not accept Amex cards.

Re: Amex BCE usage

Amex is a CCC that would rather you pay in full (hence their popular line of charge cards) . Amex prefers financially stable clients hence them being strict with approvals.

Re: Amex BCE usage

I used 50% of the CL (average) for the first 2 months and just got approved for the full 3x CLI.So looks like it def varies according to each cardholder. Either way, I think high util and using it as daily card has better odds of approval than just charging minimum on it.

Re: Amex BCE usage

I just personally hate high reported util... And I can't pif a $1750 (50% of my Amex limit) in full anyway lol
Wish I would have had this card to use to pay my tuition/books ( about 5 or 6k) and then pif!!!

It's called the Blue Cash Everyday. Use it for your everyday spending. Mine started out at a $2,000 limit and I ran it up to the limit in the first month. Paid in full and got the sign-up bonus the next month.

Re: Amex BCE usage

YMMV but I barely used my BCP the first two months and received a hefty 3X cli regardless. I spent maybe 100 bucks each month on the BCP and the rest of my spending on the green card for MR points. I called in and asked about the 150.00 statement credit for spending, and while that offer wasn't available they did give me a 100.00 statement credit immediately which was great. Spending on the card doesn't really seem to factor into the CLI decision as much as it may seem. Amex does want financially stable customers who use their products though.

Re: Amex BCE usage

Niiiiice! Oh, I def use credit!!! Unlike many of my peers who seemed to be scared to death of using cred, I certainly use it to my advantage lol... Most of my expenses are just fun things anyway... I have no debt other than cred cards and student loans, which is more than enough to manage! Hahhaa :-)

Thanks again y'all! Already made a space for Amex in my wallet hehehe :-)
