Amex Backdate Question

Hi Everyone, I just got approved for a Delta gold and a Green Amex.  1 week later I got approved for the US Airways by Barclays.  My question is, I had a zync in 2012.  My green card came in the mail and it said 2012 Member date. My Delta Gold said 2014.  When I log into my Amex accounts Both say Member since 2012.  I am concerend they did not back date my delta gold and I don't want my New Barclay card to close.  Anyone else have this issue with the card date being different than the online date?

Re: Amex Backdate Question

My DH has that same issue.  He was approved for his first personal Amex card (Blue Sky) last July.  His physical card shows a member date of 2013.  However, his online Amex account has a member since date of 2008 (he had a corporate Amex in 2008).  All three of his credit reports have his Blue Sky reporting as opened in 2008 (nice backdating for him!).

You should pull a credit report in a couple of months (after statements are generated) just to confirm that both are reporting as opened in 2012.  More than likely, this will be the case.

Congrats on your new cards.  Don't forget to ask for a 3x CLI on the Delta in 61 days from account opening.

Re: Amex Backdate Question

Based on my experience, the year on the card is meaningless. It should backdate for both.
