Yes, it's potential fraud down the road if account review were to take place

Completely agree. Hopefully people do not abuse this any further. It's a great benefit to have, and it would be a shame to see it go because of abuses like this one.
Just wanted to update everyone - I was under the age of 15 when I was an AU for my mother gold Amex it was for emergencies only. If it helps anyone though it DOES show on my CR as an AU. Anyways, I never received an email letting me know they put in the request but I did receive one today that they have shipped out my new cards so i guess it did go through! Thanks guys for the help!

As stated on the previous thread, Amex has changed their policies for backdating and it is very possible that a child would have been issued a MSD based on their parent(s) MSD. It is possible that this example was one of the reasons the policy changed to not backdate to the primary's MSD.
We should be careful in labeling a backdated MSD as fraud when in fact it was their policy. In the future, Amex may change it again and no longer backdate CRS-will that be considered fraudulent to those who have the backdated TLs?

Just as the cops arent going back to give tickets to those driving past the speed limit of prior years.
A bit far fetched but you get the point.
Agreed. Amex backdating should be appreciated; oh how I wish I could get BoA to backdate a few of my cards to '82.

1982? WOW, that would definately place you in a total new bracket as a consumer.
#Inquiries will matter less
#new accounts will matter less
AAoA will drop like a rock
Something tells me that having accounts over 20 years old on any CR will change not only scores but how credit issuers will evaluate you.
( A friend of mine was AU on his mother's BOA account for 3 months. To this day he still has the account reporting on his CR. )
