I posted this ... but wanted to share ...
Greetings! I've been reading about backdating, and this is what I did. I had BCE card awarded to me in June 2013; and an AMEX True Earnings card, which I was just priviledged to get two weeks ago.
After reading the posts about backdating, I called New Year's Eve and spoke to a CSR to see if they link up membership dates to old accounts; when she asked me what year, I told her 1983 ... she looked and said she couldn't see it; and went on to further explain that she couldn't go past 15 years. I thanked her for her effort and hung up. New Years Day, I went online into my BCE account and engaged an online chat person, and said, "Hi! I was jes curious ... I had an account with Amex back in 1983 that was closed ... do you all link the accounts membership date?" and she replied, "I can request the memberbership date change, if in our records we find that date to be true, then replacement cards will be sent .... do you want me to file a membership date update request?" And I said, yes. And voila, I got two emails stating that replacement cards were being shipped, and when I went online to both accounts the "member since date" was amended to read, "1983."
Thanks, for letting me share. O and just so you know .... back in '83, it was closed due to a chargeoff.
WOW... Congrats on the LONG backdating history success!
