I got my Amex Blue 11/15/10 with a starting CL of $4500. I just called and inserted $10,000 for my requested CLI and was approved! I just wanted to share. Aside from a former secured card, this is my highest CL ever...in my life.
As a side note, the automated message did say you can request a CLI every 6 months and up to $25,000.

That's nice clocktick. Also, you can ask for 3x your credit line when you do. Treat it (and your other cards) well and you can have a huge CL in 6 months!!!

Just out of curiosity.....may I ask how have you used your card (every day use, casual use..) and what was the balance when you requested the CLI? I'm pondering if I should give it shot, I assume it was a soft inquiry? If that, I have nothing to lose if I tryed I guess.
Thank you! Yes, I've read about the 3x your limit thing on here but as others have written...I didn't want to press my luck. My next highest one is at $6300. I suppose I could have now that I think about it as that would've brought me up to $13.5k. Oh well.

I had/still have a balance on it of about $1500 when I asked for the CLI. No other balances on any other card. I used it a lot - airline tickets, restaurants, home depot, xmas shopping, etc., however, I made four payments (1 in Nov, 2 in Dec and 1 Jan) and only put through about $5500 in that time so as not to go over 50% utilization and to pay before statement drop. When I got near 50% (I don't like doing that), I started using other cards.

We have a very similar history, I have charged a total of $4800 since november and have made 4 payments totaling $3000.00, and have a balance of around $1800 right now tha I was thinking in paying before next cut off. I might wait til i've done that to request the CLI, My CL is $8300 right now, not sure if requesting $15k would be a good idea, my higher limit card is CITI Diamond Preferrreed right now at $8.7K.
What I can see though is that AmEx has softed me 4 times since I opened the account in november....Anyways, I'll update here when I have an outcome.

You're welcome. What product do you use to see that Amex softed you; Score Watch? I bet they would go for $15k as that's not even twice your limit and you're obviously using their card. I didn't think it mattered much that I had a balance on the card but I made sure my other cards did not have a balance in case their system looks at that. Yes, please update if/when you try for the CLI!
Edited to add: How do you like your Citi Diamond Preferred? I was just looking at that card last night!
