I have to agree with afbar1114, I was denied for BCE last month and got Amex Green this month.

However, last month util was way higher, compare to this month of 26%.

Re: Amex Charge Vs. Delta Sky Miles

Charge is slightly easier to get than Delta and any other AMEX co-branded card.

Here is a good example... When I applied for my BCE card it took 3 days to approve me however when I applied for PR Gold charge card I was approved in 10 seconds and 30 minutes later I got an email telling me they were rushing out my card. I got it FedEx the next day.

Re: Amex Charge Vs. Delta Sky Miles

Thats why you app for charge first then delta. Get your footin the door and establish a relationship with them. If you don't get cc then app again in 6 months or 1 year.

Re: Amex Charge Vs. Delta Sky Miles

Seems like revolvers are harder to get... I don't like charge cards personally lol I got the Amex BCE with a 696 TU Fico and 688 EQ Fico earlier this month. I'd say if you want the revolver, just make sure you have 680+

Re: Amex Charge Vs. Delta Sky Miles

+1 I agree on the 680 score. That is a magic number for them. TU score served as my basis for Amex delta and they reported it as 702.

Re: Amex Charge Vs. Delta Sky Miles

Delta card isn't 680 Smiley Happy.  That's BCE/BCP territory these days and those ain't Delta.  Hasn't been in the past either if my old pre-approval during the middle of the mortgage meltdown was any indication.

I would agree that a charge card is easier, but the Delta isn't that much harder... 660ish with at least one clean year on a single revolving tradeline, maybe 650 at an absolute floor on the Delta for FICO, though that's not the only underwriting hurdle especially with Amex.  Afbar, your case was exceptional Smiley Happy.

Re: Amex Charge Vs. Delta Sky Miles

Well, I have a mess still on my CR's.  They pulled a 702 on TU and that was just barely getting approved (they actually pulled all 3 CR's).  Granted I had 90 day late from last year (its off my report now but it was on there at time of app), 90 day late from 5 years ago (same account), different account with 2x30 day lates, paid CO from 2009 and mess Cap1 Auto (last late March 2012).

So you can get approved with messed up background if your income and scores are high enough Smiley Happy
