Amex Check Your Spending Ability?

I just received my amex green card and was goofing off and clicked the check your spending ability and i put in $2000 and they said we cant approve this transaction, is this going to spark a finanical review?

I wouldn't fret over this. I often check my spending ability and enter significant amounts. ($50,000 and up)

Potentially - just don't lie in the process - I got a Green, and one day was denied on a transaction and that is how I found out I was being FR'd - passed with flying colors and now I pass through aount 5-6K through the card a month for the rewards.

Never use 'goofing off' and 'AMEX' in the same sentence, it will come to a bad end.

I've used it twice with no problem. My acct is only 2 months old, so when I made my 1 st large payment, I wanted to make sure it would go thru...it did. Then this past week, I wanted to pay a bill double that amt, so I asked again, and it was again approved. I think if you press the button, you should be genuinely prepared to make that purchase.

I personally wouldn’t mess with that button. I apped for their zync and was instantly approved. I got the card a week later and was playing with the spending ability button, and the next day received a call and I was FR'd. I didnt even have the card a full 24 hours Maybe coincidental but you never know with Amex.
