IFamex gave your friend a 1k limit as well. in most cases its a lets see if we can trust you limit. so he can't test waters and try for 3x cli just to test internal score with them. if approved. then he will know its is good. if declined. he will know he needs to keep working on fico scores.

They applied for a PRG card and a few days latter they got a Delta Amex Gold offer with a RSVP code. Should they approach this with caution or is a Delta card more attainable than a charge card?
If the offer is for $1,000 spend for 50,000 Sky miles, I say go for it. That's what I got last week. Anything less is not worth it.
I believe thats the offer they recieved. It also had a RSVP code at the bottom.

Then do it!
That 50,000 Sky miles is equal to 2 free coach seats flying from LA to NY. 😂😁😁

They have been working on their scores for the past year or so. About a decade ago they vowed to never have credit cards again. But after getting them again they realised how it was a necessary evil, to have a credit card.

Even though the SkyPesos keep getting devalued, I like my Delta AMEX ($2k starting limit two years ago) for the early boarding (it acts just like if you had Silver Medallion status), access to Delta lounges for a day fee, free checked bags, and other perks.
