Amex Delta Gold is BOMB!

So, Ive heard Skymiles often referred to as SkyPesos!
Not true in this case!
So Aug is a very busy month in the business I work in. I will literally be working 60-80 hrs a week for a month, then back to my usual 20 or so. LOL
I figured I better take a Vacay with my promptly credited 30k bonus miles from Amex.
I looked online for a few days. I still get a $50 cr from Amex too for first Delta purchase.
Long story short- I got a $674 Delta Flight to NYC from DFW for ONLY 25,000 points.
That's like 2.7c per mile, right?!
I double checked the price on Travelocity, Amextrav, and Delta. I'm so stoked to get such a bomb deal! Now I won't feel so bad about spending a little money on a nice hotel!
And does anyone know if I can use Skymiles to apply towards a hotel? I still have 5-10k in Skymiles!

Aaaah I heard another poster have the same experience as you! I wonder why it's so?? I got a $240 ticket take up 25K miles! gggr! They didn't even refund me the difference.

Wow! A $600 ticket for 25k skymiles. Good Deal. As a long time Amex Delta card holder, I usually allot 40k skymiles per round trip and try to keep 40k for an emergency (hope i never have to use). I'm curious... How far in advance did you book your flight? What days of the week are you travelling?

Good work young! I actually like the SkyMiles program and the bonus miles are offered.

I'm able to get a round-trip ticket to Costa Rica from San Francisco on 35,000 miles.

I don't think you can use the miles for hotels.

We are saving up our miles for a trip to southamerica.... one time i checked and we could get a ticket from LAX to SCL for 30ks miles + $55...

I dont find a ticket like that anymore tou hehehe... gotta keep looking

Idk how it happened! I checked the exact dates and airports on all those travel sites. All were $674.
I booked it for departure Aug 1st, return Aug 5th
And I booked it yesterday! I'm gonna spend prob $400+ on hotel accomodations- got a $50 Delta Credit on booking that!
Im just happy to get in a last minute trip!!

Too bad you don't have the Arrival card. Mwah ha ha ha. You could get credit on hotel with that.
