Just received my BCE EMV in the mail and was wondering how popular is it for US-based Amex members to switch over to cards with chip and signature?
It's probably not very popular yet for people who don't travel or who aren't credit nerds, lol, as it's not a prevalent technology in the US yet.
I just chatted with someone yesterday about being sent a BCE and ZYNC card with EMV chips in them. Can't wait!
I've tried to get my SPG to have a chip, but they told me it isn't available yet. Even though I've seen them around...

You should just call back. Half of the CSR's don't even know about it. It took me until the third person to get someone knowledgeable about it.

+1 on this. I didn't even call, I chatted with someone online through their website at 10:00pm on Easter Sunday, impressive.

That particular agent didn't know what he or she was talking about. My own PRG is chip and signature, and all it took was a 5 minute phone call to request it.
I'll definitely be trying again then, thanks everyone. I did try twice though, first through chat and then a guy called me a couple days later from Amex and he said it wasnt available yet. But if its possible then I'll keep trying.
