Amex EO: number not answered anymore?

Hi folks. When I call 800-297-6197 it asks for an extension and unless you know a specific extension number the system hangs up.

Does anyone have another phone number for EO that is staffed ?

Thank you

Wow so Amex has gotten like Cap1

Probably from abuse sadly

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Amex EO: number not answered anymore?

Yea this sucks. DW has to call them. I'll give her the extension of a guy who helped me a year ago

I'll call the same guy most likely.

Man I swear some of your comments just make me giggle.  Mostly because I agree but also because I have a weird sense of humor.   Smiley Happy

Lenders want the EO to be someone they refer you to, not a direct call in. So it's not surprising they're taking these steps.

Re: Amex EO: number not answered anymore?

I just think the EO is an abused system for CLIs, upgrade requests and other nominal jobs that an executive office shouldn't need to be concerned with. Do you expect the CEO of McDonald's to work the drive through because someone's burger was wrong? No. There are escalation practices and people feel that the need for a CLI is deserved when it isn't usually.

Re: Amex EO: number not answered anymore?

Given that front office staff is usually rigid and doesn't have much latitude with resolutions the EO must be involved. This can be the case with your cable or mobile provider too.

Unfort Amex doesn't have level two escalators to deal with.

Since I've gotten the ritz card I've found the JPM Executive service team to be outstanding with taking care of card related escalations. Above and beyond what I've experienced w United club, CSP and lower tiered chase cards. They've been like a second tier support.
