CreditScholar and I think Open123 had a good analysis on the Amex Gold PR: unless your annual spend through the card is north of ~20K (might've been 25K even) the AF wasn't really justifed; however, if is above that target, it's a solid choice if some of the rewards partners (airlines specifically I think) work for you.
