really want to get my foot in the door with amex.

YMMV but I would age some of those INQ's for at least 6 months 

EX has a lot of INQ's and Amex pulls EX in most cases

I'd also write GW letters for the lates and paid COs.

I think the Chase accounts showing may hurt your chances.  On the other hand nothing negative since 2009 is a positive.

Id say low but with scores like that and the 6 new accounts, 1 more INQ won't hurt you... You need to garden for 12 months rather you get amex or not... so go ahead and apply... but approved or denied... GARDEN after that!

although a charge card shouldnt be too hard to get, id get at least a 650 fico on EX before applying.
