Amex Hilton Card?

I just applied for it on a whim since I am going to book a hotel room in a Hilton anyways and my last few times I have needed a hotel room I have tended to use Hilton or one of its other line of Hotels and since the Amex card has no AF and offered me $50 statement credit and 50,000 points after I spend $750 on it I am wondering is this card better then what Citi offers for the non AF one? Amex is pretty much accepted in 100% places I shop at with the exception of Costco in a few months. This is my 3rd Amex card and this is after I just got approved of a $6000 CLI on my BCE. I also got FR'ed by them in late 2014 so I have been using my Amex cards very lightly since then. Got a 2,000 CL from them and a temp $1,000 to use now with the account they gave me to use now. Overall looking back is this the better version between Citi and Amex offerings?

My Cards: Amex BCE: $9,000, Amex Hilton HHonors: $2,000, Amex ED: $12,000, Barclays NFL extra points: $3,000, Bank of America MLB cash rewards: $17,000, BBVA compass NBA Amex triple double rewards: $17,000, Chase Amazon: $1,000, Chase Freedom: $9,000, Chase Sapphire: $5,000, Chase Slate: $5,000, Chase Disney: $4,000, Citi Double Cash: $5,400, Citi AA plat: $5,500, Citi Simplicity: $3,000, Citi Thank you preferred: $8,800, Capital one GM: $2,000, Capital one PlayStation: $3,000, Gamestop: $1,150, Amazon Store: $5,000, Ebay MasterCard: $5,000, American Eagle Storecard: $750, Macy's: $500

I personally think its better on the points you are able to yeild, its 3 hhonors points on everything and 5 on gas reastaraunt grocery and 7 on purchases made directly with hilton plus the silver status you recieve will multiply points whenver you stay or buy points from hilton. In addition you get Amex offers which I have saved enough in a year and a half to cover my PRG AF and then a little left over. The citi card may have no FTF, but im not really sure. You say that you have the no AF version, is the fee waived or there will never be one? The signup I recieved on my card was 40K after $750 spend with no cashback credit.

USAA Platinum Mastercard: $8000

Re: Amex Hilton Card?

Wow why would anybody get the Citi version if the Amex version is better? Amex is 7X points in Hilton, 5X points at dining, groceries and gas and 3X poitns everything else while the Citi is 5X,3X and 2X with the same categories.

Yes I signed up for the Blue ( the design) Hilton card and it says no AF. The other one has a $75 one. I was in the process of booking and noticed it said $50 credit and 40,000 points so I decided to take it.

I am curious though I am surprised Amex even approved though since Amex denied me a 3X CLI on my BCE back in September and had to wait 60 days to try again and got the 3X CLI. Curious as to why would they then approve me for the Hilton card but oh well. Happy to see I got the better card though i guess

Amex's versions are better....BUT citi used to be good because you could apply for multiples of the same card and get the bonuses, not anymore though...also if you have maxed out your Amex accounts (you can only have 4 revolvers) you can still get a Hilton card with citi...AND my favorite reason is Citi no AF version gives you 3X on Pharmacy's which none of the other Hilton cards from either Issuer gives......
