Amex Member since date?

Just opened blue for replacement of gold to avoid fee. Will it report the same open date as the gold card?

(xxxx being the year you opened your Gold.)

Month of new card with Year of first card.

Can they do that? My blue was closed last year, so if I open another Amex it will report April 2008?

I opened a Green in Sept 2009 and they redated it to 1988 (a gold card I closed around 1992).

did u switch cards or closed gold then open blue?
