I am eligible to PC my BCE to a BCP next month and I would like to know if a PC would impact AAoA? Thanks in advance for the help.
It will not but you would be potentially losing the ability to take advantage of the BCP sign up bonus in the future.

The obsession with bonuses around here is getting a bit much!
Anyway, the post is correct. Won't hurt your AAOA, but you won't get the bonus for a BCP in the future. If that's a big enough deal, cold app for BCP, but then you take an AAOA hit and a new HP. There's downsides either way. I upgraded from BCE to BCP because I wasn't wasting another HP and AAOA ding on essentially the same product for a bonus. But everyone's priorities are different.

a hp will fade in time and the Aaoa will improve with time as well. A good bonus can very well be worth waiting for since you only get one per product. did you do the math and is your spend great enough that you will come out ahead of where you would be with everyday even with the AF?
Yes, HPs and AAOA dings fade of course my point is that not everyone will care enough about a bonus to cold app for a product that they can get with no HP via upgrade. YMMV.
Yeah, the math works out for me with BCP, at least for now. If I find it doesn't later, can always downgrade again.

Agreed.
Everyone should determine his/her respective value placed on the price of a HP/new account as it relates to his/her needs. The decision to app/pc/upgrade should be determined by an objective cost vs. benefit analysis based on the most up to date and accurate information presented without bias. Regrettably, the latter hasn't been the case, in my view.
*Edited* PS - When I observe "regrettably," it's meant in general, and isn't reference to anyone in particular.

Agree, and the cost/benefit analysis at least for apping, should also be wider than it usually is. People often ask "Should I get card A or B?" particularly where A and B are from the same issuer. The question should be "What card, amongst ALL those I can reasonably expect to be approved for, maximizes my benefit?" Benefit is defined as however you wish, for me always net rewards, for others it might include other factors such as low APR/high starting CL/ SP CLIs or, less sensibly (IMO) "prestige" or "is a metal card" or "looks pretty" And if you value HPs and AAoA enough, the answer might be "None for now".

I could understand taking a hit for 70,000 UR points, but not for a meager $150 cash back after spendking 1k. No, I want the card because of the increased 6% on groceries. My SallieMae's monthly cap is way too low for that category.

PC will not impact AAOA, since your account number will not change. However, if it's, say, from HHonors to SPG, where I assume Amex must change account numbers, then I'm not so certain.
This was the thread I was thinking of. And I was right that kdm is one who upgraded.
Is it a 13 month wait to PC? I'd been thinking all along the 25k offer for the ED was for the EDP. It's not. So you only get 15k for the EDP and get the pleasure of paying the AF.
I'd assume the PC rule is the same between BCE/BCP and ED/EDP.
