Amex Payments

Can you make multiple payments to Amex like you can on other cards? I think I saw somewhere that you can't do it during the first month? Also, if you are allowed to make multiple payments, do they post pretty fast? Thanks!

Re: Amex Payments

I was able to make multiple payments in my first month.  I think it took about 2 business days to post.

I have only made one payment per month with them so far and they take the money out within hours for me too. I really like that. I was just not sure what would happen with multiple payments. I am due to request my 3x cli in about 10 days so I want to be sure I have a 0 balance showing on the card I am asking for the increase on. :cattongue:

Thanks! The money is available to my instantly but it does take 2 business days for mine to post over to a 0 balance. But I have only made one payment per month so far.

Re: Amex Payments

During the first month after you have setup your bank account you can't make more than one payment unless a payment is due. But you can push money to AMEX as much as you like from your bank account. I don't think they care. In fact some people that had hard limits were forced to make weekly if not daily payments to stay under the limit. Not sure how AMEX internal scoring system rates multiple payments. The one thing AMEX does hate is carying a balance on revolvers from month to month.

Cards: Chase Southwest 20k & CSP 10k & Freedom 6.6k & Amtrak 4.6k, FNBO DISC 14.9k Oregon Duck 5k, & AMEX BCP 15k & Hilton Surpass 7.5k & Delta Gold 6k & Zync NPSL, Fidelity AMEX 12k Sally Mae5k Sams Club MC 10k, Paypal Extras MC 6k, CapOne Venture 15k, QS 2.5k, QS 750, Amazon 5k, Walmart 10k, Citi Simplicity 7k, HHonors Gold 1k (moved 5k CL to Simplicity), Discover IT 8.5k and a nice stack of store cards.

I have never pushed payment through my bank account. I just pay from their site. I want to do them as I do my other creditors and pay 2 payments a month so that I never really have a balance. Even though they have the 0% interest on my card for a year, I don't want to do anything to mess up with Amex.....especially byt running a balance.
