Here's an update...

After the backdate on my Platinum changed from 2006 to 1999 my AAoA went from 2 to 3 years and my TU FICO went up by 10 points. The statement on my ED card should hit in a few days, I wonder if that will cause any additional impact.

The only other changes to my report were 2 additional queries, 4 new accounts reporting and balance changes (some up and some down).

Congratulations! That's quite a few changes, but it would seem the backdating would help. I'm still waiting for a reply on their search for my old statements from the mid-1980's.

Re: Amex Rebackdated

This is interesting.

Here's my experience.

I got in with Amex w/my Blue Cash in 2010.

Last year, 2013, I added Wife as AU. So she 'locked in 2013'. (Should have done it sooner.. had no idea about this at the time).

This year she applied for her own PRG and ED in Apr/14 and Jun/14 respectively. They show up on her credit report as opened on Apr/13 and Jun/13, her cards MSD reflects this. When her PRG first came, the MSD said 14. She either called or messaged them online, don't remember which, and told them it should say 13. Sure enough, they sent her a new card that reflects it.

I got the Platinum in June of this year as well, added her as AU. Her card came as MSD 14. Report shows 2014 as well. We never bothered to call to change this.

One more fun fact. Mom opened an SPG in Sep/14, her first amex, she's not AU on any Amex. She added me as AU. My card came and the MSD says 10. But on my report, it says opened Sep/14. **EDIT**. When the card first came, the MSD was 14. I ordered a replacement card that says 10 on it. But the report still says Sep/14.

Shrug.
