Amex Rehab and Optima offer Questions...

Friend of mine was telling me about Amex offering Optima card for $500 if they paid the $900 balance, I knew about the program but not in much detail.  So the question was this person has more then 1 Amex that has gone bad... Has anyone fixed 1 account and got the Optima without fixing the other? or if you fix both accounts, you could get to Optima accounts??

and one final question, I thought Amex offered these programs when trying to get accounts paid but this friend of mine was contacted through a collection agency not Amex.?

From what I've read on-line, Amex never sells debt.

If your friend is a better financial position, it might be worth paying the debt.
