Well I had to contact Amex credit bureau unit and they are taking care of it. It was a mistake on their end but thankfully it is being clarified.
To answer most of your questions. No, it wouldn't benefit me with their backdating because I just got in with AMEX this year. I am a MS 2014. It would be backdated to 2014 and that's not beneficial.
