Now!

Always app for Amex in January.  If not approved, only a soft.

Provided you've been using the card well I would go ahead and app. Score sounds good enough, plus a denial will most likely only be a SP, but I'd wager you'll be approved.

Re: Amex Zync, now BCE ???

Ok that makes sense. I want this card and also the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Was thinking to apply for both the same day in the hopes of the other lender not seeing the inquiry. Not sure if that plan will work tho lol

Make sure you have a card that got a CL close to 5k first before trying for CSP.

Even so, one inquiry doesn't deter a lender from giving you credit. If you have a bunch, sure, but just one should be fine.

Re: Amex Zync, now BCE ???

I have 3 inquiries currently from August when I acquired the zync, chase freedom, and Barclay rewards. The barclays and freedom both have credit lines of 1500. Every card I pay in full every month. Also, I've read some posts on this forum where it seems that having a prior 5k cl to qualify for the sapphire preferred is not an absolute, more of a YMMV sort of thing, which is why I was thinking to recon.
