Like lexie said, if it has a cash value, you can include it. Otherwise no.

If listing your life insurance is okay, Everyone will be including their social security, unemployment benefits, Medicare and all kinds of benefits they get in various circumstances.

I doubt either the online rep or mainline CSR's would have any clue.  

I tend to agree with the consensus that if it has cash value you include it, if it is a Term policy do not..

Here's the kicker. The cap one eo csr said it's tangible, when I had to list my assets, and used that info towards uw.

If the policy has a face value, then it is an asset.

A term life is not an asset, but a universal life, or whole life would be an asset.
