Amex clear

I recently received my transunion credit score (673). I have been debating applying for an Amex clear card for some time now but have been hesitant because I do not want to get denied. Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated on whether or not I should apply.

Re: Amex clear

I would not apply. Get your score over 720.

Re: Amex clear

What does EX report look like...they are big EX pullers-

DCU EQ 5.0, Citi EQ 08 Bankcard, PenFed EX NG2
EX 08: AFCU, Amex, Chase, PSECU EX 98(?)
TU 08: Barclays, Discover

Re: Amex clear

AMEX typically pulls EX, so your TU score isn't a good indicator.

I was accepted for AMEX Clear with very little history (zero history with AMEX) when my EX was a 714.

Re: Amex clear

I got it with a sub 700 credit score.  But I started with the Zync for a year, dunno if that helped...oh and I have their savings account too.

2009 Credit Portfolio: First Premier 450, Orchard Bank 400

2012 Credit Portfolio: AMEX; Gold, Zync, & Clear 5k
Citi Platinum Select 2k, Home Depot Store (Citi) 4k, Discover More 10k, Barclays Apple 2k, Cap 1 (secured) 2.5k

Re: Amex clear

Clear might be one of the tougher revolvers to get. Going for a Blue or Delta might be easier.
