Re: Amex dispute: instant resolution. what does it mean?

$10 is low, Amex is probably just going to eat the charge. I work for a disputes dept., and our banks and credit unions will write off a min. of $24.99, some CU's will write off up to $50. I put in a dispute with PNC for $14.99 and they took care of it for me and sent a letter saying the case was closed. Of course, I would not abuse this feature, but that is basically how it works.

I think the case being closed is confirmation that it was in your favor. And it would surprise me if Discover investigated every. single. charge. It is a waste of manpower and money to investigate $10 in disputes. These credit card companies have their own insurance for a reason... but, who knows. I work primarily with debit cards, and credit cards are probably different.
