I just got my replacement cards in the mail and they say member since 04. I got my first Amex cards ever this year. Do I need to call them to send out corrected cards?
AAoA = Average Age of Accounts. The older your accounts are, the higher your FICO score, generally speaking, so an opening date of '04 will add 4 years to your AAoA.
Have you ever been an authorized user on someone else's AmEx? If so, it may be that they picked up on that and backdated your own cards that you got this year.
