Amex platinum upgrade offer

So I had the platinum for a few years, but downgraded to PRG last year. Log in today and they're offering 50k MR to upgrade. Decisions, decisions.

50K for how much spend?

Since Amex offers are once in a lifetime, I'd wait for the 75K/$5K offer or the one I'm waiting for, 100K/$3K offer..

OP already had the platinum so wouldn't be eligible for once in a lifetime offer anyway. These upgrade offers are good as they don't contain that language. I recently did it with the business versions, since I'd already had the business plat.

I did this a couple months ago after downgrading to the PRG a few months prior to that. I think it was 50K miles for $3K or $4K. Points were posted as soon as the last charge hit my account. Also got my double $200 airline credit for the annual fee, so I'll keep it a couple months more and then go back to my PRG.
