Amex product upgrade quettion

Hello all, I just got a letter from Amex asking me to upgrade from the Gold Delta Skymiles card to the Platinum version of the same card. Is there any difference between the two cards aside from the annual fee?

I got the card back in Jan 08 and i got the letter just last week
