Randall's sound like a rip off

Um? ^^
I can get normal shampoo at Walmart or HEB (a Texas grocer that competes with Walmart) for around $3. That same crap is $6 at a place like Randall's but if you have your little card then it's $4.50... Yeah. Some deal! I will take cards like the sallie mae that are flexible!
Aldi accepts Amex. I do 80% of my grocery shopping there. FTW.

I don't shop anywhere else for groceries since the other places are to far away or way to expensive. I really wanted an Amex card but all their cards seem useless compared to other offerings out their. American Express really needs to step their game up.
I regularly use my BCP at Kroger, and I can confirm that it does, indeed, count as 'grocery'.
Actually, the main two places I use my BCP is Kroger and Publix, with the occasional purchase at the mall or an Amex Offer. It's especially advantageous to use it when getting gift cards at Kroger when they run their "4x Fuel Points" promotions... I can easily get 1000 fuel points, which translates to a full $1 off each gallon of a fill-up.
I'll just mention that if your Kroger has a fuel station, it will not count as 'fuel' or 'grocery' and all you'll get is 1%. If you don't have a dedicated credit card for fuel (I use Sam's Club MasterCard) you can simply purchase a Kroger gift card inside the grocery store with your BCP (6% cash back) and use that gift card outside at the pump - works like a charm.
