Sooooo...as some of you suspected, I did in fact receive my new Zync card w/ NPSL w/ a member since date of 12'
Of course I immediately called to have a new card issued with the date of 2006, since they acknowledge me by thanking me for being a member since - 2006...
She places me on hold for about 5 mins and then returns to let me know that they can not issue me a card with a backdate of 2006, since the 1st account was closed and sent to CA, despite executive relations removing the TL from the CRs - their internal systems forgets nothing (and I wouldn't think it would)
I express my displeasure and let her know that I'm upset about that, but of course not with her. Went on to say I app'd for the card specifically for the backdating benefits, at which point she says the card will report to the CRAs with 2006, it's just the card can't be issued with a 2006 date on it.
I am inclined to think that this card will report as a new account with new member # and report as a 2012 TL.
Thoughts?
If you sign on to your online account, it should tell you whether its backdated to 2006. On the other hand, I don't understand why you would expect any kind of backdating consideration, or even a new account with them, after your negative history with AMEX. I also don't know why you would tell the CSR that you specifically applied for a new card to take advantage of the backdating to boost your score.

Um - The truth, perhaps?
+1. Setup your online account and if it says member since 2006 then the account will be backdated on your credit reports, which is what really matters....

Sure, it is the truth, but as a lender, the last thing I would want to hear from a new (old) customer that the only reason I wanted your product was to manipulate my FICO score. I'd rather hear that you want my product because it's the best fit for your spending needs. IMO of course...
