Amex has a VERY VERY long memory. But there have been posts here where people have gotten back in with Amex after situations like yours. YMMV.
Years ago they had a loooooooooooong memory, and were completely unforgiving. Of late, their memory is still long, but they seem to be willing to give some people a second chance.
