Amex ?

I just got approved for a delta skymiles amex today. I wanted to ask for a CLI on my starwood preferred amex. can i do both in the same day. I've had the card now for 6 months. should i have done the cli first? will me apping for a cli cause some negative activity from amex?

You can ask for a CLI independent of the new account, however, a FR might be lurking in your future.

I did the FR and it's pretty simple.
